Informal Response For Digital Vs Print

Digital has become more useful for us through out the years. In Bianca’s blog, “Digital Vs Print” she agrees that digital is better than print and that digital has opened opportunities for society. Digital gives us information from decades ago and also gives us updated news that could have been from a few minutes ago. Digital is easier to get information from rather than print.

Technology puts the answer right in front of our face. Bianca states, “ Digital gives people the privilege to receive numerous results to the answer of the information they are looking for.” (Bianca) Digital is going to continue to improve. Since technology won’t stop changing I know we will always have an answer to any information needed.

We’re helping the environment by switching to digital. Instead companies updating the world with what’s going on around them through newspapers or magazines. As Bianca states, “all people have to do is go on their phones and look up the same information they would have seen on a newspaper.” (Bianca) We shouldn’t cut down trees daily just so we can have newspapers and magazines. We can just turn on the tv or google to be informed on what’s going on in the world.

Technology is helping children access more information for schoolwork. “Digital is not only for business and news but it can also be educational.” (Bianca) Technology became an important factor in the school system because textbooks aren’t becoming as useful as they use to be. Smart boards and educational apps have been created for children and teens to help them learn more and even have fun with the learning. Digital devices will take over textbooks because textbooks aren’t being updated quickly enough for schools.

Digital will continue to improve within the years coming. Bianca and I both agree that digital is faster and more useful for this generation and the generations coming. Technology will take over and people will only use print for so long. Eventually, everyone should switch to digital.

           “Why Digital is Better Than Print” by Dan Blank

In this generation people rather access information through a computer rather then going to a library. Technology continues to change and becomes more useful for us as it is changing. Society relays more on their phone or television to be informed on updated news rather then getting a newspaper to be updated. Digital has become a better use for us people.

Information changes daily because of this, print will not always be as helpful. Digital is constantly being updated for society’s needs. “Because digital media is inherently connected to services and new applications – each piece of information can find itself being stretched and morphed in new ways to solve a need” (Blank 2). Any information that is questioned for can be easily found with digital devices.

What is on print will become available on digital or it already is. Blank stated, “Once you digitize something, you unleash a world of possibilities” (3). In the upcoming years we will not know what kind of new technology is out there. All we know is that technology always gets better within the years. When they create new digital devices, they become in better use for us.

Thinking of education, books will be considered a better decision a few decades ago. Considering data is always changing people now believe that digital devices will be a better choice in school since information is changing daily. “But when considering the education needs of the planet, and the productivity needs of all businesses, there is clearly a better way” (Blank 5). It is faster to look up the information that has changed through a computer rather then wait for a new textbook to come out.

Social media has its’ ups and downs but realizing this is what this generation is about more people consider social media to be a plus. Social media is more or likely to be used to keep people connected through facebook, twitter or snapchat. Blank stated, “Digital is Beginning to Feel Right” (6). Digital is beginning to feel right because everything has become easier for us.

People in this world are relaying on technology to do everything for them. Since technology puts everything in someone’s hand and they keep complementing the digital devices. There is no stop in new technology. As Blank stated, “ Digital continues to make a compelling case for its future, while print can only hope to convince you that things were better in the 19^th century”(7). Technology will become bigger and even better for us in the near future.

my name is Kaitlyn, 

I was born and raised in Jackson Heights, Queens. My background is Colombian and Peruvian. I'm 19 years old turning 20 by the end of this month. Its my second year at Nassau Community College and I'm majoring in Fashion Merch&Buying hoping to transfer to FIT by next Fall.  I'm taking this class because it is a course I believe we all need to get our degree but I'm also taking this course because I really want to improve in my writing skills and also learn new skills that can help me in the future.
